At Raíces Humildes Co., we are committed to offering products that meet applicable federal and state product-safety, labeling, and chemical requirements.
Our collection may include apparel, hats and accessories, greeting cards, mugs, drinkware, and other lifestyle goods. Because product requirements can vary by product type, material, intended use, and the state where a product is sold, we work with our manufacturers, suppliers, and production partners to obtain appropriate product and material compliance information.
Our Product Safety Approach
Raíces Humildes Co. expects its manufacturers and suppliers to comply with applicable U.S. product-safety requirements and applicable state restrictions.
Depending on the product, we may request or maintain information concerning:
- Product materials and composition
- Inks, dyes, coatings, finishes, and decorations
- Lead and heavy-metal compliance where applicable
- PFAS or other regulated chemical content
- California Proposition 65 information
- Applicable Consumer Product Safety Commission requirements
- Food-contact safety information for mugs and drinkware
- Children's-product requirements when a product is specifically designed or marketed for children
- Supplier certifications, declarations, or testing documentation when appropriate
A product will not be represented as “chemical-free,” “non-toxic,” “non-cancerous,” or guaranteed to cause no health effects unless Raíces Humildes Co. has sufficient substantiation to make that specific claim.
California — Proposition 65
California Proposition 65 requires businesses, in certain circumstances, to provide warnings about exposures to chemicals that California has identified as causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
When a Raíces Humildes Co. product requires a Proposition 65 warning, the applicable warning will be displayed with the product or otherwise provided as required by law.
For products sold online that require a Proposition 65 warning, applicable warnings may also appear on the product page or during the purchasing process so California customers can review the information before completing their purchase.
The presence of a Proposition 65 warning does not necessarily mean that a product is unsafe or violates a product-safety standard.
Connecticut
Connecticut regulates intentionally added PFAS in certain consumer products.
Beginning July 1, 2026, certain products containing intentionally added PFAS, including apparel, are subject to state notification and labeling requirements.
Where applicable, Raíces Humildes Co. will provide required PFAS disclosures or restrict the sale of affected products.
Maine
Maine restricts intentionally added PFAS in a growing number of consumer-product categories.
As of 2026, restrictions cover certain categories including textile articles, cookware products and other specified consumer products, subject to statutory exceptions.
Raíces Humildes Co. expects applicable products offered for sale in Maine to comply with Maine's PFAS requirements.
Minnesota
Minnesota's PFAS product laws restrict intentionally added PFAS in specified product categories and establish additional reporting and future product restrictions.
Raíces Humildes Co. will work with its suppliers and manufacturers to determine whether products offered to Minnesota customers are subject to these requirements.
New York
New York prohibits intentionally added PFAS in apparel covered by the state's apparel law.
Raíces Humildes Co. expects apparel sold or shipped to customers in New York to comply with applicable New York PFAS requirements and may request compliance certifications or other documentation from its apparel suppliers.
Vermont
Vermont restricts intentionally added regulated PFAS in textiles and textile articles, as well as certain other consumer-product categories.
Products offered to Vermont customers will be evaluated for applicable Vermont requirements.
Washington
Washington's Safer Products for Washington program regulates priority chemicals in specified consumer products.
Additional PFAS restrictions affecting apparel and accessories take effect January 1, 2027.
Raíces Humildes Co. will evaluate applicable apparel and accessory products for Washington compliance and may restrict products from sale in Washington when adequate compliance information cannot be obtained.
Other U.S. States
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming:
Raíces Humildes Co. monitors applicable product-safety, chemical, labeling, textile, food-contact, children's-product, and consumer-protection requirements for products offered in these states.
Some states may impose requirements on particular chemicals or product categories even when a general consumer warning is not required.
When a state requires a warning, disclosure, label, restriction, or other consumer notice applicable to one of our products, Raíces Humildes Co. will take reasonable steps to provide the required information or restrict the product from sale in that jurisdiction.
Federal Product Requirements

Apparel & Accessories
Our apparel and accessories may contain natural or synthetic fibers, dyes, inks, embroidery, hardware, printing materials, and other components.
Raíces Humildes Co. works with its production partners to obtain applicable material and chemical-compliance information. Where state law prohibits a particular intentionally added chemical in apparel, we expect products sold into that state to satisfy the applicable requirement.
Greeting Cards & Paper Goods
Greeting cards and paper products may contain paper, printing inks, adhesives, coatings, foil, glitter, or other decorative materials.
Unless specifically identified otherwise, greeting cards are decorative paper products and are not intended for food contact or use as children's toys.
Product-Specific Warnings
If a particular product requires a safety warning, chemical disclosure, age restriction, care instruction, or state-specific notice, that information may appear:
